Thunder
Well during the day I have to see off that noisy stuff. It's my job after all. A hound does need his time off though, so I do refuse to do thunder patrol at night. That thunder and lightning we have been having just has to look after itself. I need my beauty sleep.
Another job I have is looking after the post. Foster mum went out last week and the household student just wasn't up yet. So I thought while she was gone I better look after those parcels that someone poked though the door.

Having a lie-in
We practised not getting up early during the week today. Foster Dad got up at 6 so I went in the garden with the others then he left at 7. I did a little whine as always but I sorted myself out and settled down until 8 o'clock. Foster Mum was really pleased and told me what a good boy I am. I was very good last night too when no people were around and this morning for a little while too. I am good at being left and don't do anything bad. Not even any wees anymore.
I do love people though and like to watch what everybody does.
But like most greyhound one of my favourite activities is sleeping !

Into allsorts
I forgot to say just how nosy I am. I like to investigate everything and I am a good little helper in the house and garden. It is all so new to me so I just have to see what is going on. I like fish tank and pond water - tastes good. Don't take it out of the fish tank though in case you were wondering - it is in buckets - apparently for plants but us doggies like our fair share too.
All the people went out last night and I was such a good boy. I didn't touch anything and didn't get into any arguments with anybody either. I was a little bit worried so I did a tiny wee but it was the first time we'd all been left in the house with no-one for a couple of hours. I was very excited when the people got home because I didn't know if they would come back because this is all so new to me. At the kennels when people go away they don't come back until morning.

Update
Well I am feeling quite at home here now but would love my own home. Everyone here is lovely but I'd like to be someone's special boy.
I am now super at stairs- I can even turn round halfway and come back up or down.
Today is day 3 of no wees indoors!
I have had playtimes with my friend Millie and Dave joins in too and i don't get cross at all. He sometimes tells me off for pushing him but I think we are starting to rub along most of the time.
Muffy is still big boss and I watch her with toys and make sure I get it when she finishes even though I would love it all the time.
I met 2 rude little dogs who barked at us on a walk but I took no notice at all and walked on by.
For a greyhound I am a very good guard dog - I make noise when I hear strange things. There was someone came in the house in the middle of the night and I told everyone about it. But turns out it was one of the 2 house teenagers so it was alright. So I went straight back to sleep.
I don't really like other dogs lying too close it makes me a bit grumpy even if it was me who sat down last. Sure I would get used to it though. It's good to tell the others when you are uncomfortable.
I did silly thing yesterday - I ran into a thing and hurt my head because i don't always watch where I am going when I come in from the garden. Is all better now though. I love the garden but it is best when I get a person to go with me - much more fun than just dogs. Although I do go in the garden with the dogs when it is time to like morning and evening.
Mostly though it has been too hot and I do a lot of sleeping. Now that I am big brave boy and go in the raised dog beds I have a lot more choice. even better I can see out the window when people go form the raised bed if I stand up. I just watch people come and go , sometimes a little whine but quite happy really. I haven't been on my own much because foster Mum is at home lots and when she is out there is usually student one who is back for the summer and he keeps me company. I don't mind being on my own though and have been ok for about an hour so far. I don't chew things except my toys which I like very much. Even toys I chew gentle and don't need new ones. Having a toy makes me feel safe and happy.

Sharing, playing, meeting - what a busy day!
Today I have been so polite with Muffy who is the dog in charge here. She picked up squeaky toy and played with it and I was very upset but said nothing. Then I went and picked it up when she was finished. she is big boss and I know to behave near her, so I try not to bump into her bed and things like that.
This morning I did playing with Millie - she did lots of play bows and I nearly joined in but we had fun. Then Dave came and was making play noises and I was happy for him to play too. Then we just all stopped because we are greyhounds and don't want to overdo it of course. Play then rest.
Also today I met other dogs on the walk for the first time.It was little dogs and one was noisy but he was put back on his lead so I didn't really take any interest - we had a walk to do and lots of smelling.
Now I am busy sleeping.....

The Pub
Yesterday I went to an inside outside place called a pub. My doggy friends didn't come because they prefer home. At first I was a bit worried which isn't like me. People came in a door and it was different to the door I came in. People were talking but didn't talk to me. I did some worried yawning for a little while. After a while I got bored with being worried because nothing nasty happened and I lay down and went to sleep. I was happy to go back home and see my friends. I might like the pub place one day but I don't really know my foster mum and dad very well so I'm not sure they take me good places or not. I'm very brave indoors and out on walks and nothing worries me too much but something about that pub place was a bit of a worry.
